Does that mean the harder I strike the string the more the pitch goes up? Or is that law that states the proportion of pitch to tension wrong? Granted the amplitude is greater shortly after the moment of impact, (the hammer rides with the wire for a short time to set it in motion), but then it also decreases, (along with the vector forces) but shouldn't that also decrease tension, and if tension decreases, so the shouldn't the pitch? A can of worms indeed.
