off-center pinblock holes

The original plate bushings were installed before the pinblock was drilled. The bushing
was supposed to guide the drill down the center of the hole. Obviously, as your piano
indicates, they didn't always accomplish this. If you find some of the originals that
didn't line up with the hole in the plate it is because they turned in the plate hole,
presumably while the original pins were being removed.

The best way to deal with this problem is to install a new pinblock as part of the
rebuilding process. I know that's not the answer you want to hear, but it's the best I can
give you. Perhaps others can fill in with Plan B.
