> I use those 1/4 lb coils with brake today and every piece of wire that > comes off forms a nice circle. For some reason, comprehensable only by supply houses, they have been putting those brakes on backwards!! Remove the wire from the brake with a pair of vise grips and hole the drips and spool so it will not unspool. Remove the brake and reverse it so that the guide hole is toward the wire coming off the spool. Reverse the other part and thread the wire through it's hole then bend it up so that it staightens the wire as it comes off the spool. Attention must be paid to the way the thumb screw/nut are replaced. Make it so that the screw is tightened when the wire is pulled off. That way you need never worry about it's tightness until replacement. Label the brake sides so you can tell in a glance what size it is. Newton nhunt@jagat.com
