Say you are a piano tuner in New York City, called out to tune the Steinway of the ultra-guru of electronic music, Wendy Carlos, and say the piano is outfitted with the Gulbransen under-the-keys MIDI rail, and say that, unknown to you, all the keystrokes that you play while tuning the piano are recorded. And say the resulting .MID file is posted to the internet for everyone to hear. Perhaps students of piano tuning would like to hear how a working piano tuner lays the bearings, and what checks he really uses during a real tuning.
