Marks inside pianos

I once tuned a piano for a lady following the work of another tuner.  He
had marked his dates and initials in the piano as you describe.  She was
quite upset that he had marked up her piano.  I never have.

I don't look in peoples benches either unless the legs are loose.  I
probably tighten 5 or 6 benches a week.  Maybe no one around here knows
how to use a pair of pliers.
