SAT Offset, recalling the Tip of the Year

Dear List,

To temporary offset a SAT is not a big deal (SHIFT roll over Measure).
You may have a problem though if you want to PITCH RAISE on an offset
tuning.

Let's say, for example, that you are asked to tune a concert piano at
A-442 after your A-440 page. This makes a difference of 8 cents that
would normally call for a pitch raise tuning. The problem is that if
you use the pitch raise program on the SAT, it will steadily refer on
the A-440 page AND NOT on the temporary offset.

I don't remember who gave us that trick few months ago but, to quote
Jim Coleman Sr: "it is worth every cent you pay for it":

1. You tune the A4 string to 442.

2. You "tune" your SAT (set at A-440 - 0.0) to that string IN THE
CALIBRATION MODE.

You can then accurately pitch raise with a "built-in" offset. Don't
forget to bring the calibration back to normal when you are done!
