How do you measure crown on a sound board? (With strings attached)
  How much should there be?

1. With a string pulled tight along side of the longest rib. Strings
should be attached and at pitch. Unless something's broken or the ribs
have fallen off, you'll get some crown on even the flattest board after
you unload the bridges.

2. Some. (I know, I know, but that's the answer I've gotten every time
I 've been in a "crown" discussion, including college professors and 40
year rebuilders.)

Doesn't help much does it . . .
