When I go on vacation is the one time I shut the answering machine completely off. My family know it means I'm out of town, and that way customers aren't dropping the ball in my court and expecting a reply. I know there's always the chance you'll miss an important message from the Queen of England or something, but isn't that what going on vacation is about? Mark Graham
