Some of the Rippen Grands had a single pedestal leg and the body of the
piano could swivel in to the horizontal for moving and then be locked
back in proper position for use.  also some of the grand cabinets were
wedge shaped.  thicker at the key end and thinner at the tail.  Very
futuristic....  rippen had a lot of very inovative ideas.  some were
excellent, but most of the buying public was not interested in inovation
on an inherintly historical instrument.
