I feel that I must comment on this matter . I among two other technicians here in Iceland own and operate a small piano store. We sell among other brands "Kawai" pianos .We have never had any trouble with them to speak of and even before we started to sell them we all liked them very much and found them easy to tune. I´m very surprised to hear from some of you out there that they have a lot of false beats . I have always found them very clean sounding in the treble and always when I come to tune a piano and find out that it is a Kawai I know that the next hour and a half will not be to difficult . When they are new in my store they need to be checked and tuned a few times before they are stable ,just like any piano , but we have sold quite a few tto music schools and they are especially happy with them because they stay well in tune . I put them in the same quality category as Yamaha and I like both brands very much . I would be interested in getting comments from you guys out there about the new RX-series grand pianos if you have had any experience with them .
