Simple."

Perhaps it is so simple that I don't understand how a pin set at 7 degrees
will flagpole less than one set at 2 degrees. (everything else being equal)
If the coil is parallel to the barrel of the pin the coil will separate
further on a pin that is at 7 degrees than on one that is at 2 degrees. In
order to get a pin set at 7 degrees to maintain a cohesive coil one has to
offset the coil from parallel to the pin barrel. (tap the front of the coil
down ever so slightly)
My original post was rather rhetorical musing about pin angles and why we
did them the way we do and I decided that we do them that way 'because'.
When you look at the physics involved we do numerous things in this area
that are contradictory to what we say should be done.
Sorry about your computer problems, been there, done that, not an
experience I want to have again. (you too Barrie)
