The Mason & Risch pianos I've worked on, three I think, including two complete restorations, were well made but entirely different in design from Mason & Hamlins. One peculiarity I recall was the bolts, about 8 inches long, which went through the plate perimeter, the rim and the keybed, treble and bass sides. - Tom McNeil, RPT - Vermont Piano Restorations
