Tuners--Broken Pins

In 6 years, one broken pin. It was one of my first tunings (number 4 I
believe). I had no support group to help me, no replacement pins (I had
the basic tuning and regulating kit from Schaff) and had never looked at
the business end of a tuning pin before. I am ashamed to say that I left
it. There had been several other broken pins on the upright, an Australian
make I believe, and the customer told me it had "bottle-shaped pins".
There was a hatch in the back to access the rear of the pinblock. I have
never seen or experienced another of its kind.
I do still carry the guilt though...

Ich bin ein schlecte Kreute.
