I sent my SAT in a couple of months ago for servicing also and spent the next week tuning aurally as I had done for so many years. I expected to spend an extra fifteen minutes or so to complete each tuning, but suprisingly by the end of the week I realized how much faster my aural tunings had become and how much better I was at listening since the last time I tuned aurally. Not only that but I actually enjoyed tuning more in that week than the previous year of using the SAT. It's a great tool and I continue using it on a daily basis (and I think the visual feedback has actually improved my aural tuning in the high treble) but I have to admit that it doesn't give me the personal satisfaction of completing a good tuning by ear and tuning fork alone.
