Newton: The Baldwin dealer in my town says they quit building the 36" Acrosonic 8 or 9 years ago, and at that time they sold new for around $3000. Nearest thing on the market today is the 42" Acrosonic at right around $5000, give or take a few bucks. BTW, he said Baldwin dropped the spinet Acrosonic because customers could get a new 243 Hamilton for about the same price, and the dealer made more money on the Hamilton. Didn't pay to load a spinet piano with 19-ply pinblock, top-end parts and fancy casework. Because the dealer here is the only new-piano store in town, and he's been selling Baldwins for almost 50 years here, Baldwins show up frequently in the local used market. Acrosonic spinets go around here for $1000-1500. Hope this helps. John Granholm Roseburg OR
