Regarding the trapwork alignment issue, I agree with Mark Storey about the
design being ultimately up to the installer. Mark and I have found designs
that work well and produce no complaints. It's important for the installer
to keep in touch with the people that have this work done to their pianos.
I personally guarantee each installation that I do. This takes the dealer
off the hook for any expenses that involve my failure to provide a good
solid installation. As an incentive to see how my installations are holding
up, I also provide a free in home tuning. This is basically giving the
customer no excuse not to call me for service should they be having a
problem with their PianoDisc or Pianomation. If there is a problem with
trapwork alignment, chances are very strong that the rest of the
installation was out of line also.
The removal of the mechanism and re-activation of the old levers and such,
could be very easily done with some planning, some imagination and some
experience with re-constructive carpentry.
