Baldwin console logo medalions

I service several Baldwins that have had the logo medalions situated
between the bass and tenor wire fall off the plate into the action or
down into the bottom of the piano (My piano is making awful noises!).

Considering that the medalion is metal or plastic (?), and the plate is
roughly textured painted cast iron, what glue should I use, should the
surfaces be prepared before gluing and how?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
