VIRUS ALERT

Hi Warren and others that responded to my Virus warning,

Thanks for clearing this up for me.  I only passed this warning along from our
Network Gurus here at my company (an engineering firm - I'm an electrical
engineer by day) to the List as FYI.

However, prudence dictates to use caution whenever downloading AND always retain
a current backup of anything you wouldn't want to lose!

Dear Mr. Piesik,

I talked to my friend who is computer guru with the phone company and
was assured that there is currently no known way for a virus to exist in
an email file, because viruses are executable programs (.exe,.com,etc.)
and email is text.  I understand that most of these rumors are practical
jokes done by hackers who are frustrated by the above situation, and
whose motives are similar to the ones that cause them to make viruses in
the first place!
