Dear Mr. Richards, I owe you and Pianotech an apology that is way overdue, actually from April 26th of this year. This is in regards to a post I sent to the Pianotech List concerning the subject: Re[2]: Knuckles lubricant I took a comment made by another and allowed myself to believe it came from you. By the Grace of God I was led to research this matter again because of your most recent post "Plate bolt torque." Seeing your name triggered this past event to play over in my mind again. After searching my files, I quickly discovered that I was in error to post a response in your direction. Please forgive me for doing this, and more particular, in the lateness of my discovery of such error. The following is a copy of said post: --------------------- >>Well, we gather you have an opinion about this graphite thing Keith. >> >>> > C. Douglas Richards Telephone: (408)894-4592 >>> > Mechanical Engineer FAX: (408)894-6298 >>> > Saguaro Group E-mail: drichard@qntm.com > >Mr. Richards, > >I'm not certain if I have an opinion or not. However, based on my >experience with applying what is called graphite and what is called teflon >powder in the area of the piano action I described to you earlier, I chose >teflon powder for its ease of application, its non-messiness, and its >results in reducing friction and/or squeaking type sounds. > >By the way, Mr. Richards, who is we? Are you not sending this post on >your own behalf? Or have you been commissioned by others to pursue this >subject? -------------------- This message should have been addressed to: Mr. William C Sadler <sadle001@maroon.tc.umn.edu> (William C. Sadler) Sincerely, Keith Keith McGavern, RPT kam544@ionet.net Oklahoma Baptist University Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA
