In regards to the lyre being used to help put the piano on its side, or back up again, I have never felt comfortable with that method. I ALWAYS remove the lyre first, and install it last. It might be bad on my back, but that beats having the piano fall on my feet if the lyre should give way. If the lyre is going to be used, care should be taken that the lyre is tightened very securely to the piano, with all the braces and screws in place. Willem Blees RPT St. Louis
