In a message dated 96-03-10 00:57:39 EST, you write:

>Just the jacks and backchecks are plastic, altho I didn't check the dampers
>(yikes!). The jack flanges and whippens are wooden. I'm not worried about

Watch out! Those checks are fragile and will break at the slightest
provocation- worse the customer will expect you to foot the bill. This is
experience speaking here. Elizabeth opened a Knabe yesterday, pieces of
backchecks all over the keys. Fortunately the piano had no sentimental value
to anyone. As Cousin Bubba says: "Good judgement comes from experience and
experience comes from bad judgement."
