Kimball uses a method for their fallboards that could be retrofitted to other makes. They use a common type of latch that is available at any hardware store. It looks something like this: The metal catch mounts on the bottom of the keycover facing the cheek block. ----- \ / The nylon part of the catch is mounted on the end of the cheek block. When the key cover is closed it forces the catch to engage. They use one on each side. Glenn Grafton Grafton Piano & Organ Co.
