It looks to me like you are doing everything right. Just as with "regular"
tuinings, each piano is different, so the reaction of a pitch raise will be
different with each piano. Going back in 1 or 2 months is a good idea. I
usually wait about 6 months, but have found the same results.

At least I recommend to come back in that amount of time. About half of the
customers do call me back, (after I send them a reminder notice), while
others don't call me back for several years. Some, who wanted that emergency
tuning just before the party, don't call me until the next party, 10 years
later.

I like your comparison to the retainers and braces. Most people understand
that part. I  think I am going to use that one from now on.
