I've found tuning tips to be a bit random, too. I carry several, but I have two that fit almost every occasion, and I go one step farther and leave them not only on the head but also on the shaft. This isn't much extra weight to carry and it allows the luxury of a quick change. I figured I could eat up the extra cost pretty fast changing tips. Does anyone know the process by which tips are made? I think they are drilled, then broached. Not being a machinist, this doesn't seem particularly easy to me, since the hole is both shaped and tapered. Bob Davis
