>Please Help. >I have a old Steinway that needs its action rails replaced. >What is the best way to go about soldering in the new action rails? > >Thanks, >Dan Squire >University of Houston > > >Dan, Consider purchasing a new complete action frame from Steinway. They run around 350.00 U.S. They are pre drilled with hammer rail felt on and come with a new set of letoff buttons. If you are lucky there will be very little fitting. Just sit it on top of the old action frame. They are freshly painted and make a rebuilding job look real good. It is fortunate that Steinway is still around to offer this service, so why not take advantage of it. The old Steinways are well worth the extra mile. Chris Gregg RPT
