The dilema of not being paid for an estimate has been answered by so many of you. Thank you
very much one and all. I had a real problem understanding and accepting the individual's
insistance on not paying especially when I gave him his free estimate o
ver the phone. It all came to light a few days ago. The guy just simply had it in his head
that he was going to get a free estimate......in home. He made the comment, "If I knew that
it was going to cost that much, I never would have had you come out i
n the first place.". This indicates that he wasn't listening when we talked over the phone
originally. I missed this, and didn't clearly state my charges before making the trip, and
didn't realize the type of person I was dealing with. A pretty fair in
dicator is someone that wants to rebuild an old upright with a not so prominent name on the
fallboard, and doesn't balk at the 2K est. I gave him over the phone. All things to be
considered for next time.......if I'm on the ball!

Thanks again everyone. It really helps to bounce things off the rest of you now and again.
Mayhaps I can return the flavor some time.

Happy T-day.
