Warehousing new pianos

   In relation to a thread on tuning stability, the following was posted
to me and now I'm curious about it.

 I've been told by a former Steinway dealer that the Hamburg Steinways
  are warehoused for about 6 mos.

   Does anyone know anything about this happening with any manufacturer?
Just wondering.
