Any one who would allow someone to put tacks in their piano hammers heeds to have his/her head examined. There are good mandolin attachments for uprights, or you can make and install your own, and even those ruin the hammers and strings if used a lot. I haven't heard of any attachment for grands yet but I can see how it could be done.
