I remember reading something in the PTJ "many" years ago from someone advising that when restring pianos of that vintage and design to drop back one wire size. As best I can remember, then you should be able to bring the instrument to A-440 without so much chance of damage to the structural components. Anyone remember this? Avery Todd atodd@uh.edu
