Bill (or anyone else, for that matter): Do you have or could you take pictures of this thing? If you'll send them to me I'll be happy to scan them and "post" them on the Page. During the course of our discussions here, there have been times when a picture would carry the day as far as understanding what's being talked about. Until I figure out how to get picture files (GIFs or JPEGs) through the gate at BYU, I'll just put them in a section of the page for those who can access it. For those who can only see in text (ie. LYNX or other similar stuff), I'm looking into whether or not an ASCII conversion program (graphics printed using ascii characters--not elegant, but useful) exists. Just a reminder: If you didn't get a peek at the drawing of David Stanwood's setup for measuring strike balance weight, you can get the file via LYNX (or a similar program) from my public_html directory. That address is: http://ux1.cso.uiuc.edu/~torrella/ptg. The files are named "stnwd.zip" (3679 bytes) and "STNWD.BMP" (191002 bytes) and are *identical*. (Try downloading the smaller one first.) Feel free to browse through (or download files) that area. Anything you can read or view there is for public consumption although I would prefer to be advised of any printed reproduction of files therein. (Note that I'm not saying you must get permission--just let me know what's going into print.) Read the index_ptg.txt for info on what's in the various directories (esp. if your time is limited).
