Wet it down again, this time w/gasoline, then toss a lighted match - from a distance ,of course. I had a Baldwin 243 in a practice room which got dripped on - right on the keys and it ran through and puddled underneath. Nobody saw the puddle, so nobody reported it for two or three days, at which time the keys made a gentle arch from 1 to 88. I replaced the keys and keybed, and all seemed well for almost a year. At that time the bridges started opening up, probably where the water ran down and across. Serious water problems obviously are not immediately evident. If insurance is xxxxxx I should say since ins. is probably involved, and they will want immediate estimates, you better either put a *big* caveat in it about slow appearing damages, or expect to bid on a reconstruction including sound- board and case rebuilding. And store it a year before you start... -- Conrad Hoffsommer Ignorance doesn't kill you, but it will Luther College make you sweat a lot.-Haitian proverb hoffsoco@martin.luther.edu
