Hi Bob, 10 years ago these were Renner parts and we still have replacement wooden parts at M&H. Also we have Composite parts for this action, S&F and Repetitions at quite a better price. On the drop screw dropping out, an easy fix is to remove the drop screw, place a small amount of thin viscosity CA glue on the threads, on the flange, and replace the drop screw once dry. Not so much with drop screws as you mention but certainly all other pinning problems. Breaking news.... Renner USA now has available replacement shanks and flanges for these. Lloyd told me they are a copy of the Falcone flange. We had a set on order for some time and they finally arrived this week. Installing them today. I'm not certain if whippens are available yet though. We're anxious to see how they satisfy with new parts, different hammers and good key work. I also decided to restring the treble and replace drill rod strings rests with solid brass. I'm convinced that will significantly improve tuning ease and stability. best, Dennis Johnson St. Olaf College _______________________ On Thu, Jul 19, 2012 at 8:59 PM, Dale Erwin <erwinspiano at aol.com> wrote: > > > > While preparing pianos for a summer event at the nearby Cal State > University I discovered an issue on a relatively new Mason & Hamlin As. It's heavy as the dickens! What's it worth? I've only seen this one. We tried to sell it a year ago, but nobody bid on it. Any takers? I'll connect you with the link when we try again in a few weeks. Just need to know what it's worth. Also a Baldwin M from 1964 in good shape. Please spread the word and let me know.
