Paul, Another thought. If there are any patent numbers on the plate, you might find out by doing a patent search. I've had mixed results with that. If there is nothing like that, you may be right about it being a stencil piano but it seems like a manufacturer would only use standard feature on such instruments. When you find out please let us know.
