Hi folks, Trying to set a value on a 1928 Sohmer 70" grand with the original matching bench and a Welte Mignon full keyboard player unit. Recently restrung and new bridge pins epoxied in. Plate reguilded. Board in good shape. Lyre taken apart and reglued and pedals replaced or replated. Original finish in fantastic shape and only shows wear on the highlighted places on the legs and trim that were originally painted blue. Looks like possibly the Solmer logo crest in the legs and that blue as a trim accent. An artist oil restorer would have fun touching this up. The player main Billows were rebuilt and player unit works well Could hardly make out that the ivory was two piece! No yellowing in 80 years! Minuses: In need of voicing, hammer mating, filing, needling etc. Full regulation of key travel, Let off drop, etc. F4 damper needs to be replaced. Pictures available to those who are interested showing the work done by Ken Davis Twin Falls Idaho.
