Alan,

It seems that if you are interested in a learning experience for the  
children, why not go further and teach them how to lower the piano  
onto a skid and move it the way that won't encounter the possibility  
of legs breaking?  As long as you inquire about the insurance issue,  
surely this method is no more likely to produce calamity than the  
former?
