This is indeed very sad news. I never met him in person, but will greatly miss his presence here. The CAUT list is something of a family, even without personal contact we develop kinships to one another. My sincerest condolences to his family. David was always willing to share insights and technical ideas and was an active "pianoman" in the fullest sense both as a professional musician and piano technician.
