Fred (and Patrick),

Just for ha-has I went to the Yamaha website dealer locator, and input my old New Mexico zip code from the 70's-80s - 87571. It came up with dealers in Albuquerque, Hobbs, Clovis, (NM) Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins, (CO) Lubbock, Amarillo, several other Texas cities as well as Oklahoma City, and several dealers in Arizona and Nevada. Apparently Yamaha has a very liberal idea of what constitutes a "Local Authorized Dealer". Since any Yamaha dealer can issue a warranty service voucher to any technician they trust, and Yamaha will send out a service team if necessary - there are no advantages to buying "local" (other than goodwill or politics). So I suspect that if you really have your heart set on purchasing Yamahas and nothing else, you could convince the "powers that be" to pull the right levers... Yamaha makes it easy...

Regards,

Israel Stein
