Alcohol/water in a proportion a good bit lower than 50% water. Steam in moderation. Certainly not pure liquid water on hammers (or 75% or more water, as VSP), nor prolonged saturation with steam. Same thing with centerpin bushings. A little water is needed to shrink them. Too much will go too far. VSP is too much water. People considering using VSP should think of it as if it were 100% water. How would you use 100% water? Me, I wouldn't apply straight water to hammers.
