[CAUT] Damppchaser full installation on stage piano?

I am about to give a bid for installing a complete DC system in a Bose 290 that is housed in a room, just barely big enough to hold it (the college had no idea that they would receive such a big piano from their donor!)

They have had the piano for almost a year now and every time I tune it (obviously not often enough), it is either a case of pitch lowering or pitch raising.

The piano is moved onto and off stage for the performances. The new performing arts center auditorium has outlets beneath the floor onstage virtually everywhere they would place the piano.

The DamppChaser website says it will need a beneath the beams installation with two humidifiers. I am wondering how this might look from the audience, whether an undercover would be advisable--or even work for that matter. Also, I would appreciate any advice about things I don't even know enough to ask about!

(Years ago at a convention I asked a tech from my chapter what a certain tool on display was, the tech answered "If you don't know, you don't need it!") I do need to do a good installation on this piano, so am greatly appreciative of any advice.

TIA

Diane Hofstetter
