Hi, Don!

...Obviously, the answer is to use a plastic soundboard....

Cheers!

Good news!

The plastic is not done because it is cheaper, it is done because it
does not swell and shrink, so it is less likely to become loose in dry
climates.

Ironic, isn't it?? The soundboard still shrinks under it, unfortunately

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your help. I had tried most everything, but Don Manino's
tip about the plastic soundboard buttons was the correct answer in this
case.
It is so far up under there you wouldn't know it was there. I was able
to get my finger on it, and then test the note reaching under the piano
and around the keyboard....and Viola....! that was the culprit.

I'll need to get a long right angle Philips to get to it, I think. The
one I have is only 3".

There is another plastic button in the tenor area...I think maybe I
should treat it to some CA glue, too while I'm at it.

I wonder if our RX3 has these plastic buttons. You'd think wood buttons
would be cheap enough but I guess not, huh? I've never had a button do
this to me before, and that is why I was baffled. It sounded like it was
coming from the capo bar, really, or on top of the soundboard. Kind of
an eyeopener.

I confess I've not really looked under a GE3 that closely. So it was a
good exercise.
The profs will be overjoyed....yeaaaay.....

I once had a Weber/Young Chang soundboard buzz...turned out to be glue
squeeze-out.
Whoduhthunk it!

Thanks again everyone!

Richard
