Greg, I looked at the video. We are now sitting in front of the same piano, which simplifies things. I will add about the modified hitch pin that you will, if you have not already, get in the habit of being specific when replacing broken wound bass strings on the Baldwin ordering by make and model. If you do not specify the modified accujust hitch pin in the process, you will turn a simply job of replacing the bass string into a difficult one trying to modify the old style loop into a new style loop because you don't want to go through the hassle of reordering. -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Greg Newell Sent: Tuesday, April 28, 2009 9:12 AM To: caut at ptg.org Subject: Re: [CAUT] Baldwin Accujust Benjamin, Did you miss the part where I said "during the video"? Did you watch the video? Do you think it possible or even practical to try and adjust downbearing between rebuilds with any other piano? Sheesh! You do mean a Baldwin with the accujust hitchpin, specifically? -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Greg Newell Sent: Tuesday, April 28, 2009 8:44 AM To: caut at ptg.org Subject: Re: [CAUT] Baldwin Accujust Interesting that during the video it was mentioned that you never have to rebuild a Baldwin due to lack of downbearing. I wonder, is the idea to just keep adding more downbearing via the strings even though the crown of the board may become negative in the process over the years? I don't think that I would ever do it that way. My 2 cents.
