Aha! A CAUT-specific topic, at last! I've posted the piano policy on the practice room doors, and where possible, on the wall above the piano. I take a walk through the practice rooms every once in a while, reminding people of the policy. Since I (usually) have a good-natured approach, I seem to have a mostly positive relationship with the students, and they police themselves. A little humor helps. Every once in a while a student takes a belligerent tone, but it's important to not let it be a battle. They're young, and we're supposed to be more mature, etc. I also send an email out to the faculty at the start of each semester, asking them to mention the piano policy in their classes. It's also a tricky way to remind the faculty themselves. I don't have any punitive measures (fines, corporal punishment) to threaten people with, so I have to catch the flies with the honey.
