Unfortunately, the referenced book was apparently neither translated (from the Scandanavian original) nor edited or proof read by a native English speaker. As a result there are more than a few things that got "lost in translation". I, too was puzzled by all the piano parts that the book proposes can be "shifted", until I finally figured out that they meant the parts can be "replaced". Please don't "shift" pinblocks.
