By way of another suggestion, we built a shelf in each of our practice rooms that was tall enough for the piano to slip under it. The students place their junk on the shelf and leave the top of the piano empty since there's not enough room to lay stuff. Then to tune it I just roll it out, tune it and roll it back under the shelf. Now we have some PCs in the practice rooms with SmartMusic installed so the shelf works well to hold the computer hardware! Works well for us. Joy! Too many students continue to load their crap on the lids and scratching them up, leaving cup marks and valve oil bottle rings, etc. You all know the rub. Who makes them? Thanks Paul T.
