[CAUT] CCM goes "All Steinway"

I don't understand the common lack of interest in many wonderful pianos.

Alex Galembo did an experiment many years ago in the Soviet Union. Concert
artists were convinced they could recognize the sound of the Steinway piano,
and that it was the superior piano. When they were not able to see the
pianos, their accuracy dropped to random chance.

Do you really think they prefer the Steinways just because of the name?

I wonder what would happen if you swapped around the fallboard decals.

The few Steinways we had were just being pounded into dust while the others
were used only if there are no Steinways available. I don't think this would
change if we put some new Yamahas, Kawais, Sauters, Schimmels or anything
else in there. The people have spoken! They want Steinways because they like
the sound and touch better. Who am I to force diversity upon our faculty and
students?
