Fred,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that only a very small handful of technicians actually complete all of the S&S seminars and get that certificate you mentioned. In fact, I only personally know 4 who have. I was also told that the last class is "by invitation only". IOW, there are only a few that will get that call. This not only shows the caliber technician you are, but seems to indicate that those certificates are rare indeed! Kudos to you!

Curious, who told you that? The letter saying you have been invited/
accepted/whatever to any given session has a line specifically saying
you may not advertise your Steinway training or something to that
effect. OTOH, after my final class in January, I was sent a sort of
"certificate" saying that I had attended the concert prep session,
signed by Eric and Gary Green. Which I certainly feel free to put up
on my wall where I can admire it. <G>
        All very curious. On the one hand, they are anxious to have well-
trained techs servicing their pianos, especially in concert venues.
OTOH, they don't want any responsibility for our work, I suppose. But,
hey, I guess I wouldn't mind being able to put "Steinway factory
trained" on my resume if that is, indeed, sanctioned.
