I found out about this piano about 20 years ago from a customer who had moved from the Netherlands to St. Louis. I contacted Mr. Debaat, and he sent me a CD. The piano has a nice full sound. It's a neat concept. With the depletion of our forests, it might become the soundboard of the future. I also discussed him with a couple of technicians in Holland. They told me that the invention is a good one, and could possibly be done on a massive scale. He had?contacted several manufacturers, but?he either wanted too much money for it, or wanted to keep control over the patent, and "a piece of the action" in the future.?But the manufacturers didn't want to do that,?so he is now making them himself, and selling just a few, Willem (Wim) Blees, RPT Piano Tuner/Technician Honolulu, HI Author of The Business of Piano Tuning available from Potter Press www.pianotuning.com -----Original Message----- From: David Denison <a440 at optonline.net> To: caut at ptg.org Sent: Wed, 4 Jun 2008 6:50 am Subject: [CAUT] STEMCO - Crystal Soundboard I have not come across this before.?
