  Chris -
I started out responding to Jon but your message came along. I hope this will not comparable to either beating OR eating a dead horse, one being much more satisfying than the other.
I misused the quote from David Love which was extracted from a message posted to both CAUT and Pianotech. He was not referring to the discussion about List-pedia, or the like, though he may, in fact, feel that way. His post was addressing the Sostenuto debate and, presumably, the renewal of an acrimonious atmosphere. I apologize for data revisionism.
Jon's point has been that there already seems to be an viable existing form of pedia that utilized information from the list. My point, which seems to be getting lost regularly, is:

Protocols that would enhance the daily dialogue and minimize confusion (quoting; titles better reflecting content, etc.)
Effective individual methods for handling list data.
    Enhance archiving process, going forward
Explore enhanced / refined search capabilities / organizational structure of existing archives.

Maybe the exact issue is the fact that you couldn't, (or wouldn't) easily, refer to the specific previous discussions you referenced to sollidayfy the point you were making.

  Happily,

and as we have once again aired the collective ignorance on a subject that we have beaten to death at least once before, I agree with Jon and Daivd Love, enough already. The CAUT community has been trolled enough for any fish that will bite (at least twice) and the fish ain't bitin'. Alan M and I and several others tried about 18 months ago, to the best of my recollection, and I'm not going to search it to be more precise. The program (that Alan offered) we looked at to accomplish this was difficult to learn, at least for me. and once we looked at the learning curve and the planning and implementation time there just wasn't enough love to make it go. So good bye yellow brick road and let's get off the vanity of discussing a good idea which no one doing the discussing is willing to pursue. As Jon has pointed out we have a pretty good vehicle right now, all we need do is to keep putting good fuel into it.
And if by some chance someday someone has the motivation and time and can collect the expertise to pull off a pianopedia HALLELUIAH!

I think the Journal editors are doing a fine job of gleaning info from the lists

and publishing it under Tool & Tips. Other definitive info is published in an article.

So this is already being done and is a searchable db on CD.

      The format is there.
