For the last month, I've been working for a lady looking for a Steinway A. She wanted ebony. Didn't want to pay the

$62,000+ for a new one...I looked at a couple at Sherman Clay in SF (quite nice). The SF Sherman Clay store with Steinway NY, just had a huge sale over the weekend of "Heirloom Pianos" and such. These were mainly old pianos rebuilt in at the Steinway restoration facility. Huge selection of B's, M's and L's. Several A's, one of which was a beaut...1922 A, new soundboard/bridge, new Kluge keys, new action etc. 3 or 4 leads in the bass keys...they fixed the geometry apparently? Refinished...Dampers all lifted exactly as one...really a nice piano. My customer bought it for $47,000 + tax and it was delivered within a few hours...

Just something for your info about what rebuilt Steinways are selling for...
