Ken, (I dunno.) We bought a box of leather scraps from Tandy and there are various sizes, etc. It can't be too hard/thick or too thin/soft. Not as thick as shoe leather and not as soft as backcheck leather. Bendable but not flimsy... (See! I dunno...)
